According to statements by LG Electronics on Thursday June 9, the Korean company was the premier seller of 3G W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phones in Europe in the first quarter of 2005 with a total of one million units, a market share of about 25%. In 2004 it sold roughly eight million W-CDMA phones in Europe and this number is forecasted to rise to 22 million units in 2005. LG also made clear that it will supply more than 20 3G W-CDMA phone models to the worldwide market in 2005.
